ADMINISTRATION

Ray Johnson
Superintendent

Ray is superintendent of Oregon's largest Christian school system. He started at Grace Christian School as a sixth grade teacher in 1976 and taught 4th grade and high school electives. He was named vice principal in 1979, principal of the elementary school in 1981 and administrator in 1982. The high school branched off that same year. In 1997, Ray became superintendent of the primary, elementary and middle schools at Grace Christian. In 2002, the Cascade Christian High School board voted to merge with Grace Christian Schools. Ray launched a five-year merger plan.

Ray is an ACSI Accreditation Commission member and as ACSI Northwest District Representative 2 to the Regional Council, representing Oregon schools. He holds a Master's Degree in Education from Southern Oregon University and a Bachelor's Degree in diversified Liberal Arts and Bible from Simpson University. He completed his state teaching license through the University of Oregon.

Devon Rickabaugh
Assistant Superintendent

Devon Rickabaugh brings 30 years experience as an educator to her position as the Assistant Superintendent of Grace Christian Schools. Devon served as Middle School Principal at Grace Christian School from 1999 to 2006. In 2006 she moved to her district-level position. Before moving to Medford, Devon spent eleven years at Tacoma Baptist Schools in Tacoma, Washington as the Elementary and Middle School Principal, and the prior two years as a first grade teacher. She began her teaching career as a special education teacher, and an educational specialist for six years.

Devon earned a Bachelor of Arts in Special Education from Central Washington University in 1976, a Master of Arts in Consulting Teaching from Pacific Lutheran University in 1986, and Administrative Washington State credential from Pacific Lutheran University in1996. Devon serves on the School Committee and the Foundation Board at Grace Christian Schools. She and her husband, Karl, are members of First Baptist Church of Medford.

Mark Perry

High School Principal

Mark E. Perry has a B. A. Ed. in History with a minor in Social Studies/Government from Western Washington University. He has an M. Ed. in Christian School Administration from Columbia International University. Mr. Perry brings a wide variety of experiences to his position of Principal at CCHS. He has been an administrator at schools in Salem, Oregon, Palmer, Alaska, as well Anchorage, Alaska. His 25 years in education have also included numerous coaching assignments covering 25 seasons in three different sports. He has traveled extensively covering all 50 states and numerous foreign countries. Mark is married to Julie Perry, a family counselor with Living Water Counseling Center and they have one son, Jonathan Perry, a fifth grader at Grace Christian Schools.

Bruce Booker
Dean of Boys

Masters from Western Oregon University
Additional graduate work at Idaho State in microbial physiology.
Mr. Booker serves as Dean of Boys and teaches General and AP Chemistry. He has been at Cascade for 15 years. Prior to CCHS, Mr. Booker worked for the University of Idaho in the field of diagnostic bacteriology.

Autumn Boekenoogen
Dean of Girls

Mrs. Boekenoogen taught Elementary and Special Education in Arizona for 5 years. She has been our Early Education Coordinator at Grace the last two years, and now this year is also our Dean of Girls at Cascade. She and husband Dave are the proud parents on one year-old Dallas.

Dave Fennell
Athletic Director

Mr. Fennell is in his 5th year of being the athletic director at Grace Christian Schools. Before moving to Oregon, he worked at Cuyamaca College in San Diego teaching a variety of exercise science classes. He and his wife Christine have been married 5 years and have one child.

Gary Miller
Director of Development

BA, MA, Political Science, Arizona State University; MIM, (Honors) International Business, American Graduate School of International Management Mr. Miller teaches Fly-fishing as well as serving as the Director of Development. He began teaching at CCHS fourteen years ago after retiring from a career in international banking. He taught American Government for the University of Maryland Extension Program while serving in Vietnam and Marketing at Elmhurst College in Chicago during his banking career. He is a former director of the California International Banker's Association and former National Chairman of British American Chambers of Commerce in the US. Mr. Miller was awarded the Bronze star for service as an Army Officer in Vietnam. He and his wife, Bonnie, a retired Grace teacher, are members of Westminster Presbyterian Church and sing in the Rogue Valley Chorale.

Terry Roehl

After teaching 4th grade for three years in San Diego, Mr. Roehl moved to Medford and has been with Grace Christian Schools since 1981. During that time, he has taught various classes from 5th to 12th grade, as well as being Yearbook Advisor, Athletic Director, Administrator, coach, and on-call sound man. He and his wife, Kathy, have two adult children who both attended Grace and Cascade from Pre-k through 12th grade. The oldest of their five grandchildren is a student at GCS. Terry enjoys camping, fishing, golf, photography, playing guitar, and all manner of electronic gizmos.

Linda Olson
Cascade Online Academy Principal

Linda Natali Olson has a Master's degree in Education and taught at Southern Oregon University for thirteen years. She has worked with every grade level from Pre-school through college level. She has a special place in her heart for the "middle" years and this is her fourth year as the Middle School Principal at Grace. Linda is married to Jeff Olson. They have three children and two grandchildren. Autumn and her husband David have a one year old son named Dallas; Elijah and his wife Lauren have a sixteen month old daughter named Eva; and Dante is a student at Grace Christian.

Ryan Allred

Mr. Allred attended Westmont College, receiving a B.S. in biology and Western Washington University receiving a M.S. in environmental science. He met his wife at Westmont and now has two beautiful girls. Mr. Allred also owns and operates Adventure Whitewater; a Christian based rafting business in Northern California during the summer. He is in his sixth year at CCHS teaching Science and math and serving as the boy's golf coach.



Sherri Beeler

Miss Beeler, Cascade's Language Arts Department head, teaches regular English, along with honors and AP English classes, Paper Arts, and Altered Art. She has served at Cascade for 18 years. Miss Beeler has a BA from Northwestern College and a Masters Degree from California Lutheran University. Miss Beeler has directed past drama productions, coordinates a yearly publication of student work through the Creative Writing Club, and hosts monthly Art from the Heart events.



Gary Bennett

Mr. Bennett holds a BA in Biology, California State University, Dominguez Hills, CA. Mr. Bennett teaches Biology, Anatomy & Physiology, Forensics, and Intro to Physics. He has served at CCHS ten years, after teaching in public and private schools in California for nineteen years.





Vickie Boyd

Mrs. Boyd is a graduate of Cascade Christian High School and has taught Art and Photography at CCHS from'93-2000 and 08-Present.




John Bruce

Mr. Bruce has been teaching Health, P.E., History, Government and Economics, and World History at Cascade for fourteen years. He also served as Athletic Director. Mr. Bruce has a BS in Physical Education from Willamette University; MS, Exercise Physiology and Kinesiology, University of Arizona. He is a graduate of Crater High School.




Emilio Chavez

Mr. Chavez has been teaching all levels of Spanish here at CCHS since 2004. He was born in Mexico and moved to Medford in 2003. He is a Doctor in Veterinary Medicine, SFL (Spanish as a Foreign Language), and ESL (English as a Second Language) from Universidad Michoacán de San Nicolas de Hidalgo and Baden-Powell Institute. In the evenings he works for Head Start teaching an adult education program. Mr. Chavez worked for a year as an ESL Assistant at McLaughlin Middle School in Medford and fourteen years as a Spanish and English Teacher at Baden Powell Institute in Morelia, Mexico.


Daren Croy

Mr. Croy has taught Bible and Physical Education at Cascade for three years after teaching in the middle school at Grace Christian School for nine years. Prior to being an educator, Mr. Croy served as a College and Singles Pastor at First Baptist Church, Medford and as an Associate Pastor at Ruch Community Bible Church. When he is not at school, Mr. Croy and his wife are busy raising their three young children and caring for four frogs, three doves, two fish, two dogs, and assorted other pets. An avid volleyball player and coach, Mr. Croy has coached many different teams at many different levels, including being the head coach of the Cascade Volleyball program in the early 90's. More recently, he coached the CCHS Freshman team and enjoys working with the players on the court, off the court, and in the classroom. Mr. Croy's favorite quote is, "Significant doing flows from significant being."

Jonathan Gettman

Mr. Gettman received his B S in Business/Math from Southern Oregon University. He is currently attending Concordia University, working on his MAT certificate. He has been coaching numerous athletic teams at Cascade since he graduated in 2003 and is in his second year teaching. Mr. Gettman has been married for two years, to wife Kimberly.




Jered Gritters

Mr. Gritters is a native Oregonian from the Portland area. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Biblical Studies and Philosophy from George Fox University in 2003, and a Masters of Divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary in 2007. He lives in Medford with his wife, Caroline, a Cascade graduate. He is in his second year at Cascade Christian, teaching World History, Bible, and Remodeling.




Chris Hillis

BA, Sociology, Bridgewater State College, MA; Graduate courses in American History at Ashland University in Ashland, Ohio, Southern Oregon University, Hillsdale College, and Portland State University

Mr. Hillis has taught Grammar, Composition, Media Analysis, and U.S. History classes at CCHS for ten years. This year he is also teaching a class exploring the question, "What is Truth?". Prior experience includes three years as a counselor and classroom teacher in an alternative school in Boston; co-founder and co-director of a private, non-profit corporation in Framingham, Mass. which contracted with the Massachusetts Department of Youth Services to provide rehabilitative counseling services to troubled youngsters in suburban Boston; part-time copy editor at a local newspaper; copy editor for an independent writer and publisher in Rogue River; Adolescent Therapist at a facility for emotionally disturbed teenage boys in Grants Pass, County Director for a non-profit agency providing tutorial and general educational services to families who home-schooled their children. Mr. Hillis enjoys officiating high school and college basketball games in his limited free time.

Debbie Knapp

BS, Mathematics, MS Secondary Education with an emphasis in Mathematics, Southern Oregon University. Miss Knapp has been at CCHS since 1995. She teaches Geometry, Intro to Visual Basics, Physics, Pre-Calculus and Calculus, Game Programming, Programming in C and C++, and Introduction to Engineering Design. She has a BS in Mathematics and an MS in Secondary Education with an emphasis on mathematics from Southern Oregon University. Prior to coming to Cascade she taught at Rogue Community College, New Hope Christian School, and North Valley. Miss Knapp also coaches the Math Team.


Lori Long

Mrs. Long has been teaching freshman English at CCHS since 2007-2008. Prior to joining the CCHS faculty, Mrs. Long taught freshman English at East Tennessee State University and sophomore and junior English at South Medford High School. Mrs. Long also conducted essay writing and research writing seminars for home schooled students during the eight years she home educated her two children.

Mrs. Long has been married for twenty-six years to her best friend, Phil, with whom she has been blessed to share a daughter, Abigail (18) and a son, Aiden (15).

Lucy Milojevich

Mrs. Milojevich has a BA, in Music Education from Willamette University and a MMEd in Music Education from Lewis & Clark College. Mrs. Milojevich has been teaching music at CCHS for seventeen years and also serves as our College/Career Counselor. She directs all vocal music events, including the Christmas programs and "Showtime!". Prior experience includes teaching vocal and instrumental music in the Parkrose School District, classroom elementary music in Beaverton School District, junior and senior high vocal and general music at Phil-Mont Christian Academy in Philadelphia, and vocal music at Grants Pass High School. She also taught private piano lessons.

Genny Morey

Mrs. Morey teaches computer applications, business education classes and also serves as the Yearbook adviser. She began working at CCHS in 1995. She has overseen the development of computer classes which include Digital Imaging, Web Design and Video Editing.




Wally Nye

BS, Business Administration and Education, Northwest Nazarene University

Mr. Nye has taught Bible, Mathematics, and Social Science classes as CCHS for fifteen years following twenty-four years of teaching in Oregon, Idaho, and the Philippines. He also has helped with the CCHS Sports Program, and continues to coach Softball and Girl’s Basketball.





Suzanne Ray

Mrs. Ray has taught age groups from pre-school to college and subjects from algebra to home-ec in her twenty-seven years of teaching. At Cascade, she is currently teaching her favorite two subjects, English and Spanish. She taught with Mark Perry in Anchorage, Alaska, her home town, and has lived in Medford for three years. She can be seen participating in her favorite non-teaching activities, running and walking while reading, in various locations about town.


Michael Reimer

Bachelors in Music Education from the Univ. of Southern Mississippi.

Mr. Reimer is new to Grace and Cascade this year, teaching all of the band classes for grades 5-12. Mr. Reimer moved his family to Medford this summer from Missoula, Montana where he taught band and music classes for fifteen years at Valley Christian School. The Reimers have three boys...Casey (8), Riley (5), and Keaton (2) with the oldest two attending Grace Christian.


Janis Rubus

Mrs. Rubus has been teaching at CCHS since 2001. Out of high school she attended Humboldt State University in Arcata, CA as an Art/Photography major. While a student at HSU, she married fellow student, Larry Rubus. They moved to Southern Oregon, where they built a home and raised three children. In 1997, after their children left home, Mrs. Rubus returned to college at Southern Oregon University, majoring in English. She earned her BA in English in 2000, and her MAT in 2001. She was hired by CCHS that fall. She enjoys teaching both English and Photography at CCHS, but she enjoys the staff and students most of all: "The incredible staff encourages me to walk closely with Jesus every day, and the young people energize and inspire me to become a better person and a life-long learner." Apart from school, Mrs. Rubus enjoys spending time with her five grandchildren, RVing with her husband, gardening, reading, photographing, bicycling and spending time in God's amazing creation. She and her husband attend Gold Valley Fellowship.

Anne Scott

Mrs. Scott currently teaches French 1, 2 and 3 and Spanish 1. She has worked at CCHS for eleven years. In prior years at CCHS, she has taught German I, Spanish I, Journalism, Bible and Speech.

Before moving to Oregon, Mrs. Scott taught French and Spanish for seven years at Valley Christian High School in Dublin, CA.

Amy Spence

Mrs. Spence is in her sixth year of teaching at CCHS. She earned a BA from Southern Oregon University. She comes to Cascade with 7 years teaching experience and received the Wal-Mart Teacher of the Year award in 1998. She teaches electives at CCHS which include Fitness and Nutrition, Creative Living, Catering, Baking & Pastry, and Cooking Around the World. In her free time she plays piano for her church and teaches Sunday School.
